Nearly there and looking forward to welcoming everyone to Abersoch.
To celebrate our tenth Anniversary and our local talent thee will be a performance in Abersoch Village Hall, Wednesday June 8th, 7.00pm to 9.30pm, entry free, to showcase young people and the arts from dance and song to recitation; and music from jazz and rap/beat box to traditional Welsh harp.
The valuable Wales Air Ambulance Service is also celebrating their 10th birthday. Their trailer will once again be in the central village car park selling merchandise and their brand new CD especially recorded by Bryn Terfel.
Signed copies of the newly published book “Let the Good Times Roll – the story of New Orleans” by Canon Ron Cassidy will be available at the Festival. This is an opportunity not to be missed. We really appreciate the terrific support over the years from Canon Ron, by busking to aid local charities, marching in the Parade, ‘blowing his trumpet’ in band sessions and leading a wonderful Gospel Service in 2010. To add to his talents he contributes interesting articles to Just Jazz Magazine and has agreed to report on our Festival this year (hope it is a good one!)
Due to illness the singer with Ronald Andersen’s Festival Band cannot attend the festival and we all wish her well. Quote Ronald “the lands in the band have dug out another fine singer, 22 year old Nina Baur, who is glad to take over”
We have organised as much as we can for your enjoyment but dare not mention that ‘orange thing in the patch of blue sky’!
