The festival of Lord Ganesha starts from Gaensh Chaturthi and ends with Ganesh Visarjan date is 29th of September 2016, Saturday. Ganesh Utsav the celebration of Ganesh Jayanti or Vinayak Chaturthi.
Anant Chaturthi is the day when all the Ganesh idols of the city, to o their hometown. So this is also the day when is the visarjan of the Raja of all idols of Mumbai, the Lalbaugcha Raja. The visrajan of this starts from 10.30 am in the morning on 18th September, 2016, here is takes round of the maor parts of he ciy in huge processions.
The crowd for viewing the visarjan are in such a huge crowd that it is very difficult even countable approximately, if you have a look on the top you will feel as if there are ants walking on roads. The immersion of this great idol was done at Girgaon Chowpati, being the tallest idol of Mumbai the procession is carried on a grand manner. The routes that it covers for the visarjan starts from Lalbaug, Bharat Mata hall, from there it will go to Sane Guruji Marg then to Byculla Railway Station, west; then as of there it will go to the well-known Sutar Gully, C.P. Tank, Opera House and then to its final destination the Girgaon Chowpati for the immersion. All around the round of the procession of the great Lalbaugcha Raja, the devotees dance, sing and chant the mantra of “Ganpati Bappa Morayya, Puchavarshi Lavkar Yaa”, doing this procession maximum takes 29 to 30 hrs, if you get a chance to be a part of the procession then you will realize that during this time it is felt as if the entire Mumbai is down on the street you may also wonder how come and from where does such crowd comes from. There are also well versed securities for the procession so that the procession takes place without any anti social events.

The Visharjan procession of the Lalbaugcha Raja will start at 10:00 AM on 29th September 2016 from Lalbaug market. In order to make the arrangements for the Visharjan procession, no devotee will be allowed to stand in the Navas line after 10pm of 16 September 2013. And similarly the Mukh Darshan line of the Lalbaugcha Raja will not be available after 00:00 hrs of 18 September 2016 The VISARJAN procession will take the traditional route i.e. Lalbaug, Bharat Mata theatre, Lalbaug, Sane Guruji Marg, Byculla Rly. station (w), Clare Road, Nagpada, Dunkan Road, Don Taki, Sant Sena Maharaj Marg (Kumbharwada), Suthar Gully, Madhav Baug, C.P. Tank, V.P. Road, Opera House, Girgaon Chowpati.
