on this 15th September 2012, The Amavasya, the No Moon Day is falling on a Saturday. Though at Suryodaya time or at Sunrise the Tithi is Chaturdashi, Amavasya starts from 09:40:00 hrs. As we are getting the Tithi Amavasya the whole day on Saturday, we are considering it as Shani Amavasya, which is auspicious for Shani Pooja at Shani Shingnapur.

Amavasya Start time – Saturday 15th September 09:40:00 Hrs
Amavasya Finish Time – Sunday 16th September 07:21:00 Hrs
Bring 2 balls of iron and immerse one in flowing water and keep the second one always with you
Wear ring / band made of black horseshoe in the middle finger of right hand
Watch your image in bowl of mustard oil and then donate that oil
Pray Rahu-Ketu statue made in iron or glass, with complete rituals
Use black rice, black cloth, black flower and black chandan in puja
If you pray under peepal tree (Sacred Fig) the result will be even quick
Feed black crows with curd and roti for 43 days

Pray shani kavacham
At least 7 saturdays immerse coconut in flowing water
