Speaking to ANI, Rakesh Mishra, head of the Tata Institute for Genetics and Society (ITGS), said: “The new Mutant XE was first discovered in mid-January, but I don’t think there is any need to push the panic button. There have been only 600 cases worldwide so far, though we need to keep a close eye.
