Shani Jayanti coincides with Vat Savitri Vrat which is observed during Jyaishta Amavasya in most North Indian states. On Shani Jayanti devotees keep fast or Upvaas to propitiate Lord Shani and visit Shani temples to seek blessing of Lord Shani.
